The Astara Border Crossing has successfully achieved full implementation of its online truck scheduling plan, effectively eliminating the requirement for drivers to make in-person visits. This initiative provides logistics professionals across the nation with the flexibility to schedule appointments remotely

According to the Director of the Astara BCP, the launch of the Border Parking system, designed to streamline fleet scheduling and significantly reduce wait times for the carrying cargo fleet.
S.Morteza Azimi, the Director of the Astara BCP also stated that the smart truck scheduling system has been operational since January 1st of the year 2025, enhancing the overall experience for drivers. He stressed that the online scheduling system not only facilitates convenience but also allows authorized nationwide to secure their appointments without extra need for physical presence.
Azimi further noted that the online appointment system is accessible not only to the Iranian drivers but also to entire overseas drivers, in particular those from Russia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Georgia and Turkiye, who can apply via the designated website. He added that drivers of refrigerated vehicles, which do not require assessment and sealing, are permitted to enter customs area from 8 PM to 8 AM for expedited clearance, as well.
The successful implementation of this plan, along with the removal of previous barriers, relies heavily on collaboration among traders, associations, international transport companies and other relevant stakeholders, led by the RMTO. It is also important to highlight that the initial phase of the online truck appointment system was introduced in 2022, achieving a 90% implementation rate before reaching full operational status on January 1st, 2025.
