The International Road Transport Chamber of Pakistan (IRTCoP) had the privilege of participating in a high-level briefing session with H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan.
Representing IRTCoP, President Mr. Rana Asif Khan and Senior Vice President Mr. Aamir Malik attended the session, which was focused on the regional transport and logistics landscape and its pivotal role in driving trade-led regional economic growth.
The Ambassador highlighted Kazakhstan’s ongoing reforms and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity across Central Asia, with particular emphasis on strengthening transport corridors linking Pakistan with Kazakhstan via Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. Discussions also revolved around emerging opportunities for collaboration between the public and private sectors of Pakistan and Kazakhstan in building a more inclusive and resilient logistics ecosystem.
For IRTCoP, the session was a valuable platform to exchange insights on how Pakistan’s road transport sector can integrate more effectively with regional trade routes, especially under frameworks proposed by the Kazakhstan connecting Pakistan via Afghanistan, Turkmenistan or through Uzbekistan.
President Rana Asif Khan emphasized IRTCoP’s commitment to supporting policies and partnerships that facilitate cross-border trade, reduce transport bottlenecks, and promote sustainable growth in the logistics sector for shared prosperity between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Senior Vice President Aamir Malik echoed the importance of such engagements in shaping practical collaborations that can benefit transport operators and businesses in both Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
As the world moves towards greater regional integration, IRTCoP remains dedicated to fostering dialogue and partnerships that open new opportunities for Pakistan and region’s road transport industry and contribute to stronger economic ties with Central Asian partners.
In the meeting, the suggestion of the IRTCoP was acceded by the H.E. Mr. Y. Kistafin, a delegation, especially of IRT Chamber’s Member TIR Operators to be organized, for by road visit to Kazakhstan. The delegation, based on TIR Operators & other relevant logistic & Infrastructure entities, is to be organized for study and corridor development introduction purpose. After accomplishment of the visit, the study and observation report of the IRTCoP-TIR Delegation visit will be presented to H.E. Mr. Y. Kistafin, along with Pakistan-Kazakhstan and other international stakeholders.
